From humble British beginnings Sekonda as developed into the UK’s top selling fashion watch brand – a position it has held for 29 consecutive years.
Established in 1966, the brand originally aimed to offer a collection of mechanical watches which were manufactured in Russia. With a bit of marketing magic and a focus on customer service, the brand slowly developed to become a household name.
However everything changed with the introduction of the quartz movement, which saw Sekonda move its operations to Hong Kong. As a result of the worldwide shift, Sekonda could present a more varied, stylish and fashion-orientated offer to its customers – something which shapes its brand values to this day.
The Sekonda train went into overdrive in 1998 when a number of new fashion brands tried to muscle in on Sekonda’s territory. To tackle this, the brand innovated and added three new sub-brands, Editions, Xpose and Seksy. You can find out more about the latter here.
Stringent quality control is a feature of all Sekonda watches and its hardcore standards have ensured that, out of 1.6 million watches sold, less than 1% have been returned.

Brand Friends: Instead of taking the brand ambassador route, Sekonda and its diffusion brand Seksy by Sekonda promote their designs by careful TV sponsorships and advertising placements.
