London Craft Week – don’t miss Struthers London’s exhibition: Concept to Creation: The Magic of Bespoke
This week marks the third annual London Craft Week, when exceptional craftsmanship will be showcased across the capital through a programme featuring hidden workshops and unknown makers alongside celebrated masters, famous studios, galleries, shops and luxury brands.
Master watchmaker Craig Struthers and horologist Dr Rebecca Struthers (Woman of the Year – Eve’s Watch Awards 2016) will be in residence to guide guests through the most bespoke service in British watchmaking, taking their clients on a journey from hand rendered concept illustrations to finished timepiece. They will be showing pieces from their existing Tailor-Made collection – along with the prototype of their first in-house movement.
The Struthers London exhibition, titled Concept to Creation: The Magic of Bespoke, is being held with brand collaborators and fellow husband-and-wife team Method Studio. The Scottish furniture designers and makers will be exhibiting pieces from their new ‘Elemental’ collection of dramatic, sculptural objects and furniture which has been handcrafted from native hardwoods and precious metals. Master woodcarver David Robinson will also be demonstrating the lost art of woodcarving.
While the exhibition runs everyday from 3rd – 7th May, on Thursday 4th May at 11.00-12.00, the Struthers and Method Studio will be in conversation with Melanie Grant, Luxury Editor from The Economist 1843, to discuss their unique approaches towards creating worldwide unique pieces of luxury craft. To join the talk register for a ticket here.
The exhibition is open to all, but to arrange a personal appointment please contact the respective studios in advance. Attendance to the exhibition is free of charge and is located at 6 Astwood Mews, South Kensington, London, SW7 4DE.
