Meet the new school. Founded by Elie and Pierre Bernheim, 88 Rue du Rhone is an independent Swiss watch brand launched in 2012, with a focus on traditional watchmaking and contemporary design. Grandsons of the famous luxury Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil, the Bernheim’s established the new generation of this family business in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

The name 88 Rue du Rhone is full of meaning – on a busy boutique shopping street in Geneva, the address itself does not exist. The name is inspired by the river Rhone, which runs through the Swiss Alps and then emerges at the very spot on Rue du Rhone where number 88 should be, a view of the river flowing out of Lake Geneva sitting in its place.

The double eight logo represents a watch stopped at 10 past 10, and the symbol of the number runs through many of the labels designs – from watch faces to second hand counterweights or resting atop the hours.

The Bernheim brothers pride themselves on having created the world’s first accessible luxury Swiss watch brand.
