Famous for  Creating one of the most complicated mechanical watches ever made, the Blancpain 1735, a true grand complication. Limited edition of 30 pieces only, produced just once a year

The legendary Blancpain – the world’s oldest watch brand – has built its reputation on traditional craft and innovation. Founded in 1735 in the heart of the Jura Mountains, Blancpain has achieved great success from its beginnings. Established by watchmaker Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, the company has always aimed for the top: the best quality, luxurious, stunning timepieces.

Blancpain is a traditional watch company that always seeks to innovate – recently, its Fifty Fathoms diving watch was relaunched. Commissioned originally by the French Navy, this iconic piece was also worn by Jacques Cousteau and remains a standard of reference among diving watches.

The company is also responsible for one of the most complicated mechanical watches ever produced – the Blancpain 1735. With a production of just one watch year, this is a solid platinum piece with an automatic movement, minute repeater, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, moon phase and a split second chronograph.

Blancpain prides itself on never having produced quartz or digital watches. In the last 30 years, Blancpain has worked to revive both the mechanical watchmaking movement and traditional complications with a move to assembling its parts all under the one roof – all minute repeaters, carrousels and perpetual calendars are manufactured in-house in the village of Le Brassus.
