Famous for  The cheapest most expensive watches in the world

The Christopher Ward watch company was founded on a boat on the River Thames in 2004 by Mike France, Chris Ward and Peter Ellis.

Having learned from insiders in the Swiss watch industry just how much of the cost of a typical luxury Swiss watch is marketing hype, the three friends set out on a mission to turn the traditional model on its head, and create premium quality Swiss timepieces “for everyone”.

The trio made connections with a small but talented watchmaker in Jura, Switzerland, spent twelve months designing their first two watches, the “C5 Malvern Automatic” and “C3 Malvern Chronograph”… and the rest is history. The pieces took the world of horology by storm.  At one point the fledgling brand was being discussed more frequently on Timezone than Rolex! The W61 Trident featured above demonstrates how it combines high-tech with high fashion style.

The brand has proved that lean manufacturing and online retailing combined with English style and Swiss precision is a genuine winner.

Did You Know? Mike France and Peter Ellis previously owned the successful children’s toy company, Early Learning Centre.

Brand Friends: Mary-Anne Ochota, anthropologist and TV presenter.
