Twenty years ago, production at NOMOS Glashütte began with just three employees. Today, NOMOS Glashütte’s head office contains all the research, design and artisan creators that the brand requires to produce its luxury watches. NOMOS builds all its own watch movements and has developed its own automatic calibre, as well as other complications. Each piece carries the Glashütte stamp of origin, meaning at least 50% of the movement’s value is produced locally.

At NOMOS Glashütte, watch design is a top priority. The design needs to be timeless, as well as practical for a modern market. Plus, this still small independent watchmaker produces some of the best mechanical watches on the market.

The Tangente is the brand’s most famous model. Inspired by a Glashütte design from the 1930s, this watch is a masterpiece of simple design and advanced craftsmanship and since its release in 1992 has been a signature style for NOMOS, winning awards and commercial success. In 2012 the Tangente GMT won Germany’s Watch of the Year.
