Famous for  Swatch, coined from combining ‘Second Watch’, was used to introduce the concept of watches as casual, fun and relatively disposable accessories

Swatch’s revolutionary story begun in 1983 by Nicolas G. Hayek. His big idea of a ‘second’ watch was soon followed by a third, a fourth and the rest is history.  Today Swatch is one of the biggest brand names in the world, known everywhere as a maker of exciting watches in tune with the latest trends.

Recent launches include ‘Touch’, ‘Scuba Libre’ and ‘New Irony Chromo’. See The Pastry Chefs collection above which is full of soft, sweet colours and illustrations of a candy shop.

The first artist to collaborate with Swatch was Kiki Picasso in 1984, and other famous names include, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Cassette Playa, Rankin and Jeremy Scott.

Today, creative retail is the name of the game, and Swatch has monobrand Swatch stores, megastores, shop-in-shops and kiosks all over the world.  It is heavily involved in sports, the arts – it even has its own TV channel!  Swatch is more than a brand – it’s a whole other world.

Did You Know? Swatch has made 333 million watches.

Brand Friends: Chris Brown, Jessie J, Kelly Osborne – the list of fans from the music and arts industries is endless.
